Color Change
Don’t you love that point when a color changes? It could be from winter brown to spring green,
from green to blooming,
or from the stem to the end of the bloom itself.
Today, for me, it’s the color change at the border of my skirt. It means I’m about to start the daisy stitch, which is new to me, and then I’ll be done. You knew this post was going to come back around to some kind of hand craft, right?
I played it safe, using colors similar to the pattern sample. But it’s one of my favorites. I never get sick of any shade of green or blue.
Never.
Oh, thank you for sharing the pretty greenery and flowers! I'm so looking forward to the colour change. We're losing the white, but it's still clinging on, and since I live in an elevated city surrounded by mountains, it'll take a while yet. My starving eyes appreciate the colour! 😀
(Although I'm headed south right now, so maybe I'll see a live flower soon! Am in the Calgary airport right now, and despite being quite warm, it's still depressingly brown. NO WHITE THOUGH, except on the mountain tops in the distance.)
Also woohoo about the colour change on your skirt! I know I said it…somewhere, probably the HKKAL forum, but I can't wait to see how the textured bottom part of the skirt looks in your colours. Such a neat skirt, and I'm getting more and more interested in in (despite this style of skirt not really being a good look on me). I'm sure I'll be convinced once I see yours! lol
Your flowers are lovely!!! I'm a huge fan of colors…and like you love blues and greens! However I'm thinking that your 4 the picture…the one of the stem and bloom..I am totally gonna pull the colors from that in the next yarn I make…it just jumped out at me 🙂 Thanks for sharing, I needed a dose of inspiration 🙂
I'm so looking forward to seeing how it results. I like the changing colors of that season, and my terrace is starting to bloom again.
I guess you're back from vacation by now, Heather. How was it?! I loved working the daisy stitch at the bottom- super addictive. I'm not sure what element of this design you don't think would work for you, but so many ravelers have modified it to be longer, less full, no pockets, that I think you might find mods you like.
You might like a better fit
Oh that's so cool! I'll be watching for it, if you do. I just checked out your site and its full of beautiful stuff
I'd love to see photos of your terrace plants, Elena. We don't have many plants die off in winter but it is nice to see the blooms and extra green.
