Necklaces That Say Summer

I’ve been wanting some jewelry from Stephanie of Native Clutter‘s shop since we became Ravelry friends.  She makes some very light, delicate necklaces that are perfect for wearing in the summer.

I’m a fool for packaging, especially the quirky way artists package their handmade goods.  You never know what you’ll find.

These howlite and snowflake obsidian layering necklaces will be my summer staples.  I once had a necklace with a similar look in high school that I wore all the time.  These look so nice together I thought I’d get some photos of me wearing them yesterday.  But I was helping move furniture around in Houston summer heat, sweating profusely.  It wasn’t the best look, so these will have to do.

The Garnet Slice necklace is so obviously awesome.  Also, garnet is my birthstone.

I usually gravitate toward blues and greens, but I love the unusual way the color of these “slices” changes, depending on the light reflecting off of them or pouring through them.  This is the first time I’ve ever liked a piece of garnet jewelry.

She pretty much had me at antlers.

  1. Garnet is my birthstone, too. I have to say, I've always hated it (I don't like red) until I saw those slices. Those are absolutely stunning!

  2. I've been thinking of getting a new summer necklace, too. The one i'm coveting has a tribal vibe but i can see why you fell for the garnet slices. Oh, and i love layering necklaces!

  3. That's what I was thinking, Vanessa! I'm not a red person either. Stephanie has an eye for making stones delicate while still raw.

  4. I like the layered look too, especially when they are this delicate. My daughter and I were talking about how she's a ring person and I'm a necklace person. It's my preferred embellishment.

  5. Michelle! Thank-you so much for the feature. I really, really appreciate it. And I'm so glad you like your necklaces.

Native Clutter has been such an enjoyable venture. I have more time to work on it now, so I've been taking photos, making new pieces, doing inventory – all of that important stuff! And I'm grateful for any traffic sent my way, so thanks again.

I'm glad you like the packaging!
