My Fall
is
slowly thawing on morning runs
long socks
hair growing out
smoky smelling clothes
ginormous hats
ginormous sweaters
cats in windowsills
racing from cold floors to the couch
early bedtime
boots
when you get light, it’s beautiful
cocoa
sheets over plants
soup and chili
extra long walks with extra frisky dogs
windows down
incredibly beautiful cloud cover
that feeling of relief you get when you walk into a warm home
and realize just how cold you had been.
